Cape Soya is the northernmost point of the mainland of Hokkaido.
You can see the Sakhalin Island, which is 43Km away on a fine day.
There are various historical statues and monument that are worth visiting at Wakkanai Park.
A 100th year memorial tower/museum which commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of Wakkanai situated at the top of the hill.
It takes about 10 minute to get to Wakkanai Part by car.

Cape Noshappu is an excellent spot for watching sunset and you can also see Rebun and Rishiri Island at the same time.
Noshappu Aquarium and Science Museum are nearby which are worth to pay a visit.
You can get to Cape Noshappu by taking bus which bound for Noshappu at No.2 bus terminal. It takes about 15 minutes
It is registered as Hokkaido Heritage. It last 427 meters long and shaped in semi-circular.
It is very different from the rest of the breakwater architectures.
It takes you about 10 minutes to get to Wakkanai Port Northen Breakwater Dome on foot.
